I set myself a challenge in 2021 to swim once a week every week throughout the whole year ahead. This blog is a reflection of that journey as it happens, as month by month I have explored the furthest reaches of Scandinavia in search of swimming opportunities, in cold, clear, fresh salty water.  After many years writing content and devising content strategies for big brands in freelance, internal and agency roles, I’ve opened up my own content studio here in Copenhagen, Studio Blackbird*.
 I’m delighted to have not one but two pieces in Conde Nast Traveller’s May edition, which has a family travel section. It’s always been my gold standard in terms of travel writing - it delivers a serious dose of luxury and travel insight and it’s an honour to be published in it.
 I’m Laura, I’m a mum of two, an English-born Copenhagen resident and something of an enthusiast. I’ll share some of the things that inspire my writing as we go along, and I’ll write a little about writing, give you a taste of my work in progress and share something of my publishing journey.
