As we all live longer, the bridge between youth and old age is getting longer, creating a new, undefined era between youth and middle age. When I moved to Scandinavia in 2017, I was fascinated by how graciously and gloriously women in the region navigate this era. Getting older had never looked cooler.
The longer I have lived here, the deeper I have fallen for this way of life, and the more I want to know about how to live it myself. What are the secrets to growing older like a Scandinavian woman, from a style, attitude, health and lifestyle point of view? And how can we share this sense of sisterhood and bounty so more women can feel like this?
Through original interviews, conversations, profiles and research from over a hundred contributors, my new book The New Age will explore this period of late youth in Scandinavia, including learnings from the women doing it well, and those enjoying it the most.
Be part of this original project, conceived as a conversation between women around the region sharing advice, approaches and attitudes towards life’s second chapter, by answering our twenty-question survey. It’s a call to arms for women over forty to take up space in the world, and to enjoy a meandering late-night conversation about life and how intrinsically wonderful it is.

I’m also interested to talking to women based in Scandinavia and the Nordics who have a unique view on life over forty. If you know someone, let me know.
